Soul Snack 9/64 ... A Vagabond's Grace

Jesus comes for outcasts, the unacceptable and those with shattered dreams. Jesus dreams of the accused, the abused and the angry as His friends.

Jesus reaches down through the wispy clouds of the impenetrable skies with an open and inviting hand. His generous eyes seeking the lost, the least, the last and the lonely. He spares no effort, reaching into the lives of the rejected, the rotten and the refuse of this world.

Descending deliberately to a world that would hinder, hurt and hate Him, He brought them the horror of self-sacrice.

He has given the power to believe where others deny, the hope to go forward where others despair, and to love even when the tank is empty.

Grace bellows, you may be a disillusioned and saddened grasper of life, you may be insecure, rejected, mistaken or even potbellied … Grace bellows again, although you may panic, be depressed and have oneliness as your closest friend BUT ‘never confuse self perception with the mysterious truth that you are ALREADY accepted.' (my paraphrase and editing. -p28)

Jesus was no respecter of privilege.

Jesus was no seeker of position.

He came and blessed the broken, the burdened and the battered. His grace was first brought and then bled for the vagabond.

On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice. For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners." Mt 9:12-13
