Soul Snack 9/54 ... Breakfast with Jesus - B

Eating with others

Hungrily he slipped the spoon into his white breakfast bowl,  poised at the ready to scoop his corn flakes. Demandingly his attention is drawn to the unwelcome interruption of the telephone. His Bible resting beside him, this food for his soul already eagerly digested.

Briefly he mused that Sunday mornings were for slowness, solitude and family gatherings. Interruptions at least an inconvenience.

The caller was no simple well wisher or information seeker. THis call again would present a strong and legitimate alternative to his morning's church attendance.

Jesus is present with His followers when they are alone or when they are together.

Simon Peter, Thomas (called Didymus), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples were together. Jn 21:2

Myriad opportunities will arise not to meet with His other followers. Occasions will abound to be taken from enjoying His presence into the presence of others.

Jesus' desire is to also come to His own wneh they are together. These seven fishermen would soon realise that together with others, He feeds me, instructs me,, provides for me and restores me. All this happens together. (No wonder church attendance is so constantly interrupted!)

Breakfasting withe Jesus is also breakfasting with His friends.
