Soul Snack 9/45 ... Confined Opportunity - B

A prophet under guard. Not really an unusual state for a Biblical prophet with 'inside knowledge'. Words of comfort are usually preferred over words of correctness.

God will not leave His faithful unattended.

Attended by guards and also attended by God, maybe Jeremiah was a busy man?

Into Jeremiah's detention God spoke. God introduces Himself (Jer 33:2 - as if that was really needed) and then issues an invitation to Jeremiah. What sort of invitation could be issued to man in custody?

'Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.' Jer 33:3

The invitation is for prayer, deep prayer. This is not an invitation to go, but invitation to stop.

In confinement the clamour of life must be absent.

In confinement approach the tree of life not the tree of knowledge. Only then will great and unsearchable knowledge be found.
