Soul Snack 9/38 ... An Impure Touch

A pure pharisee had invited the King of Purity to share a meal.

Reclining on cushions around a low table (by modern standards) the King of Purity is approached from behind. The approaching queen of impurity knew Jesus was close by, so she wisely sought Him out. Facing the legendary pharasaic disapproval she would still correctly give him both her humble attention and her valuable contents of an alabaster jar.

The humility and devotion of this sinful woman has been 'legend' for 2000 years. A true event recorded in time and re-told repeatedly.

Not only does Jesus welcome sinners, he is actually touched by them too.

Jesus 'is touched' by impurity.

When a woman who had lived a sinful life in that town learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee's house, she brought an alabaster jar of perfume, and as she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them. Luke 7:37-38

Impurity is no impediment in this relationship. No one is too sinful to touch Jesus.
