Soul Snack 9/28 ... Bike Blessings?

There is something re-assuring about traversing a path to goodness.

The knobby rear tyre spun recklessly from a throttle used with flagrant disregard to his small engine.
Serrated footpegs firmly gripped the thick rubber soles of his boots. Fun was quickly being transported to an unwelcome fatigue. Aching thighs and a now screaming backpain robbing this trail rider of any remaining joy. Multiple abrasions gained in a recent fall only magnifying his pain.

Cresting a hilltop revealed a gnarly and treacherous rock strewn descent into a small and dull pine forest. He asked himself 'is this destination still worth the difficulty?'

Assiduously he proceeded downhill, deftly stabbing only the rear brake to control his descent.

Drawing closer to the forest he saw an inviting path. Amidst these heavy timbers he arrived at a glen. The glistening sun enlivened brook, softly babbled its course. As he stretched from his tall bike his eyes engaged a bright red female yabbie the size of a lobster and he knew instantly inside that this destination was worth the difficulty of the journey. His pain disappearing as his effort was vindicated.

Many paths are pothole ridden, poorly surfaced and demanding to navigate that lead to an oasis. The quality of the path rarely defines the quality of the destination.

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Matt 7:13-14
