Soul Snack 8/61 ... Asking vs Anger

"Mummy, mummy, mummy ", were the relentless demands of these twin four year olds on their already spent mother. The hem of her new skirt already decidedly dirty and ragged. Looking down one metre with eyes of love, squashing feelings that were pent up, she knew she had no more to give.

Rapidly welling inside her was the now tearful expectation of personal explosion. Four children under six constantly depleting reserves that weren't.

Snapping at these children's constantly self-focussed realities would only injure, but containment seemed impossible. Love very soon would succumb to rage, the incessant demands so much more frequent than the opportunity for refreshment.

It truly is a wonderful and natural thing for a child to seek and to receive from their parent. The solace, the strength or the sustenance always sought, and often demanded, is most appropriate.

Our Father in heaven far more deeply knows the constancy of His own children's infinite ability to demand. Fortunately to all those who are seeking Him, His patience never expires, His attention is simultaneously worldwide and His love is never consumed by anger.

The joy of God as my parent, means He wants me to just keep on asking even when all my brothers and sisters are asking too. His hem even always remains new.

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. Luke 18:1
