Soul Snack 8/225 ... The Way Home

Were these wise men from Babylonia or Arabia? Where was their home? Their origins were as imprecise as the duration of their journey. Their home as unclear as their identity and number. Conjecture can bring no satisfaction, but seek they did!

These nameless and faceless men are only known by their activity, but they are known very well. For 2000 years their journey in search of the infant Jesus has been acclaimed and re-told. Non-Jews seeking a Jew, kings canvassing the Ancient Near East for Christ. (see also Ps 72:10, Is 60:3)

These men (as with all men) were living a destiny to death until they found Jesus. God had made it clear how they could find Jesus. God wanted Him found by these men. They followed a star. God still makes the path to Jesus clear.

With all correct propriety and dignity they give treasures to God now on earth. Treasures and not trinkets for this infant messiah. This is what correct worship commands. Then they head home.

And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.  Mt 2:12

After meeting and giving to Jesus, God will always reveal better ways for you to go. When I meet with Jesus He will always change my ways. In fact I can't meet with Jesus and worship Him without having my ways changed.  Then He will give me a different way home.
