Soul Snack 8/173 ... Inviting Light
Similar to absolutely countless houses across this world, there is a large window in the front room of my house, the lounge room.
This is an attractive and inviting window. Gracefully adorning my 'viewscape' is a delightfully yellow 2 meter high bush. The view is far from panoramic, but still very pleasing to my eyes. Some may call it floral 'eye candy'.
When entering my lounge I am always confronted by the same choice. Will I sit beside the window or opposite it but facing it? Invariably I choose to sit close to the window. The chairs are identical, so why, I reflect?
Like a moth I am always drawn to where the best light is.
It is natural to be drawn to the light.
It is pleasurable to sit in the light.
It is healthy to live in light.
My body needs light. So too my soul and spirit.
To not have The Light daily, to not sit with Him, is to permit the influx of darkness. Where The Light is darkness can't rule. (Jn 1:3)
As I choose to sit still and close to The Light, I will see and enjoy the delightful yellow bush that He waters so faithfully in my soul.
