Soul Snack 8/172 ... My Bullion
Sagely, Henry Ford that great industrialist reflected a century ago:If there is any one secret of success, it lies in the ability to get the other person's point of view and see things from that person's angle as well as from your own.
Vaults of bullion reside impregnably inside each one of us. Bullion that we see as our wealth. Bullion that we see absent in another, which is evidence of their poverty. This simply then reinforces my confidence in my wealth.
It is an exceptionally simple exercise to despise a person who does not have my 'wealth'. (The Bible strongly counsels against this ... Obadiah 12). The disparaging thoughts about the person who faces constant troubles, the rejection of those whom success avoids, the judgments upon the unkempt or the irreligious serial loser all can be my 'bullion.
The God of The Cross awakens me (often with great difficulty) to reveal my 'bullion' to me.
Surely that which I despise He still accepts, and that which I reject He can still rejoice in.
Humility is becoming what I have despised, then realising what I have become. God then has finally equipped me to see that I was wrong. In humility alone can I see the other person's life correctly.
Then God has restocked my vaults with true gold.
