Soul Snack 8/163 ... Storms Speak
History records Job as probably THE man at the apex of suffering (who had actually not lost his life).
Job and suffering are indeed synonymous as wisdom is synonymous with King Solomon.
Job, almost abandoned to evil endured destroyed relationships, a faithless wife, loss of wealth, extreme ill health and the death of his children. This was then capped by three unwise friends who believed in their own wisdom. Their acidic counsel only raised in Job a sense of self defense, not any of comfort.
His friends had totally mis-read Job's storms in life.
Friends may come with proud intention and yet incorrect information in life's storms, but God never will.
God may put us in difficult places we do not want to be, to teach us things helpful things we may not want to learn. He understands this, our friends may not.
Listen for God in stillness. Remember He is prone to whisper in storms (1 Kings 19:11-13). Through the storms of life He shall surely be there. He may not be the first to speak. He will certainly not be the loudest, but He will be gentle and completely correct.
