Soul Snack 8/157 ... Solo Adam

The 'voice' for attention, even fame resonates loudly through all souls. But obscurity is to be more desired than fame.

Not many are ready and sufficiently healthy to travel the path of fame, especially with the inevitable result of fortune. However, recognition of me remains anchored in all human spirits.

Obscurity is superior to fame. Fame assaults humility and is perfect fodder for pride and greed.

 7 "Two things I ask of you, O LORD;
       do not refuse me before I die:

 8 Keep falsehood and lies far from me;
       give me neither poverty nor riches,
       but give me only my daily bread.

 9 Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you
       and say, 'Who is the LORD ?'
       Or I may become poor and steal,
       and so dishonor the name of my God.   Prov 30

The Divine 'hard drive for affirmation and attention still remains, both those redeemed and unredeemed alike. Surely this is part of being 'in His image.' (Gen 1:26-27)

A solo Adam (before Eve's creation) still had both affirmation and attention for he had divine approval. At Eve's creation he then perfectly enjoyed female attention.

Yet Adam listened to another's voice! He then lost absolutely all.(Gen 3)

In fame there are many alluring but threatening 'voices'. It is in obscurity I grow. In obscurity I am available for both divine attention and divine approval. In obscurity other 'voices' do not even know I exist.

Father, keep me this day I pray from fame that I may not forget you and fortune that I may not ignore you. Please just give me my daily bread. Amen
