Soul Snack 8/10 ... Eluding Evil
Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. (1 Peter 3:9)
No one can remove evil.
All minds rehearse evil! The tape of injustice can be so consistently replayed. The vengeance tape played so loudly, echoing curses both into and from the cerebral cortex, don't get mad, get even!
This slogan of ill will is the slogan of sin.
God wants evil eradicated, satan wants evil extended. Satan will give ample evidence as to why I should extend evil (and therefore even unwittingly help him).
As always, God's counsel is correct!
Do not repay evil with evil ! Why? To do so, simply further spreads evil.
God knows correctly how to remove evil. I can't remove evil. I can only prevent evil, or even promote evil.
When I'm vengeful, I'm actually blessing evil. The evil is being multiplied at and by MY hands. I am working then, exactly against Jesus. To multiply evil is to magnify malevolence. I DO NOT WANT THAT!
No wonder God wants me to leave this in His hands. With God, vengeance does not multiply evil, it eradicates evil.
When I elude delivering evil, I will enjoy receiving blessing. This is why God called me, so that He could smile on me, then I would inherit His blessings alone.
