“The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son and they will call him Immanuel - which means ‘God with us'." Mt 1:24
On 6/1/41 President Roosevelt very deliberately explained the fourfold gift that he wished to give the world:

Freedom of speech and expression,
-
Freedom for all to worship God individually,

Freedom of all from want,
-
Freedom of all from fear.
What an impotent Roosevelt did deliver was America's entry to WW2 on 8/12/41.
We all would like to be able to deliver on Roosevelt's humanitarian wish list. At Christmas (at least) many of us commendably try.
The milk of human kindness is no more apparent than at Christmas. “Peace on earth and good will to all men," is the refrain. This milk flows into the lives of the lonely, the impoverished and the broken.
Yet is Christmas really a time of peace and goodwill?
At that 1st Christmas, heaven is most active. Restoration, repair, reclamation and replacement are heaven's intentions. God is no longer banished from His earth. God's favour is now available to me. Christmas means there is now no peace on earth for the evil that robs me of His peace. No longer do I need to be absent from the peace of His presence. Christmas peace declares war on all earth's peace-destroyers.
