The Persistent Bible
The Bible has passed through critical fires no other volume has suffered, and its spiritual truth has endured the flames and come out without so much as even the smell of burning. ~ W. E. Sangster
There is no doubt as to the unsearchable impact The Bible has held for 1600 years. Its universal footprint is clear. The Bible is without peer. Whether folk swear at it or swear for it, a response always arises.
Remember God's Word can never return to Him empty, anymore than it can be voided.
The Bible among books is what Christ is among men. ~ anon
The persistent Bible, its unstoppable sales, its 'impossible' survival amidst mankind's agnostic herds demonstrate it holds the divine and indelible imprint of authentic truth.
The Bible lasts because it carries it's own self-authentication, confirming its truths to the diligent reader, while not needing any outside support.
The Bible's success as well as the resistance it invites are clear indicators to its fear pulling or faith building power.
Scripture is eternally richer than any contemporary novel, or narrative of antiquity. This is why people still buy it, pour over it and even still die for its truths.
To ignore the Bible's content is a peril of eternal and deadly consequence.
To embrace this Holy Book's directions is to gain perfect guidance in this life, and forgiveness for the next.
There will always be those who disagree and deride God's Word - the naysayers! But, these folk will be setback upon their heels and drop in worship upon their knees at Jesus' return. All people will then tearfully learn its true value because:
at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, in heaven and upon earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:10-11)
As Jesus returns in glory every challenge will be dispelled and every doubt removed. The Bible will be shown as it really is - God's book unto salvation. His Words so vindicated that 'reason' now proves 'faith' to have been correct all the time.
There are men who read The Bible in vain. Such men are fruitless who labor studying Scripture, but refuse to accept Who it points to.
You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about Me, yet you refuse to come to Me to have life. (John 5:39-40)
God's Word can never fade away, will never be proven unhelpful and can never lead a man into error.
The Bible is not only worthy of examination, but also of belief.
