For too long men and women alike have stood firm. Shoulders held back, boldly upright, they resist wisdom's push to fall upon their knees.
The pride of the human spirit is wickedness, it is the seed of all sin. Pride turns all backs to the Throne of Grace, lying away. It coaches all we are best off independent from God. Pride flees from prayer.
If only I had learned to pray this short prayer so long ago...
O Lord I need You more than:
the days needs the sun
the birds need a sky
the heart hungers for love
the soul longs for a companion
the mouth thirsts for water, or
the dust cries for rain.
O Lord I need You most this day. Amen
I can do all things through Him who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:13)
