An Inconvenient Truth!
In a desperate persistence from the 1980s vain cry Greed is Good, it entered into the 1990s as a softer purpose to life, it was:
the creation of wealth in perpetuity.
That did not sit well with me. It never will.
Surely life has a depth far more selfless and edifying in quality?
The Psalmist wrote:
- The children of Your servants will live in Your presence; their descendants will be established before You. (Psalm 102:28)
- But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord's love is with those who fear Him, and His righteousness with their children's children. (Psalm 103:17)
In the final book of the Old Testament the prophet Malachi explains that He seeks Godly offspring.
Tomorrow is lost to the generations when yesterday has sown greed, but it is won when Godliness is pursued.
I have ventured down an opposite path to my greedy 'teacher', it is:
The Last Word:
the creation of inter-generational righteousness in perpetuity.
