Safety in God's place!
Soul Snack 9/176 … Location, Location, Location - B
Thenthe Lord said, 'there is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not be seen.' Ex33:21-23
When I inevitably meet my maker, I WANT to be safe! I WANT no menacing oncoming traffic. I WANT no whirlwind that may blow me away. And, I certainly do not wantto be His ENEMY.
Moses is meeting His maker. God so generously responds to his request (Ex 33:18-20). Moses is to receive the supernatural experience without equal.
There is a divinely chosen location for Him, a rock. On this rock he would not slip. This rock also provided ready accessibility for Moses and the Almighty. It was a safe location! There Moses would see God.
Even at this safe location however, there were its attendant dangers. No one can see God's face and live. (Ex 33:20).
Even when I am obediently in God's place and God is beside me, He knows dangers still await me. God will advise and give protection. God will 'cover' me and prevent my injury. The puzzling circumstances, the doors that remain firmly closed or even relationships sadly lost, can be God's hand of covering.
Moses received momentary 'blindness' for his protection. An illness that just persists may well be God's covering of me. Moses is 'blinded' to see God's face on earth. He is 'blinded' to further injury (death). Moses is 'blinded' so that he will be able to receive a treasure only reserved for eternity.
God 'blinds' Moses. God protects him for his eternal well-being. In God's chosen location for me, He can and will keep me safe. He knows the dangers of my requests, dangers I am ignorant to. He will give me my good requests and then still protect me from the harm my own desires may bring. In His location He always has me 'covered.' I can always meet Him safely.
Thankyou Father for the location you have placed me in. Thankyou for the things I do not understand. I know ALL is for my eternal well being. I trust you always. Amen
