Rest your head on Jesus' heart
Soul Snack 5/11 ... The Pulse of Heaven
So lying thus, close to the breast of Jesus, he (John) asked him, “Lord, who is it?" (Jn 13:25)
A head is lain on the heart of God. The thumping, the rhythm and maybe just even the heaving, John knows, as God predicts his betrayer.
(The intimacy of this scene is captured again in Jn 21:7 with the third person description of Jesus' love for John.)
In closeness a heartbeat is caught and in contact a heartbeat is captured.
To take hold of the heartbeat of Jesus is to gain the pulse of Heaven.
Jesus' desire is that those who love Him will lay their head upon his heart, measuring their needs and receiving His grace.
In leaning on Jesus, He gives of Himself, questions are asked and answers are heard, His ways are found.
There is no need to have any gap between your head and Jesus heart.

Jesus was lifted up so I could be taken up.
