Probing Peace
Soul Snack 162/14 ... Peace drips from the font of riches.
Dollars anoint the fluctuations of the soul; they salve the sores of the spirit.
Cash is a panacea to the cashless, and lubrication for the cashed-up. It is the satisfaction to all desires and needs. Wealth is the foyer to tranquillity.
The truth is that pennies interrupt peace - for financial abundance creates worry, and strivings steal rest.
Gold is a liar. The pursuit of money holds no baton to peace.
When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” (Luke 18:22)
Have the wisdom to know the line between rest and strivings, peace and pennies for upon this line is found the wisdom of self-restraint.
He who seeks self-restraint renounces the fulfilment of his own will. He sacrifices self, thus tasting a peace that exists beyond this world.
'Keep this short and perfect word: Let go all, and thou shalt find all; leave desire and thou shalt find rest'. ~ anon
