4 Thoughts on Pride & Pain
When pride and pain meet it is an unspoken blessing (not burden).
Here are four reasons why:
- A proud heart is an observed heart, this the Lord does not ignore (see Ezekiel 28:1-5). He will act upon it.
- Pride is never hidden from God. But, He is far from the proud. Heaven assails the proud. But beware, don’t buttress this false wall of proud self-protection against the pain – pain upon the proud heart is the only foyer to a good future. Otherwise - pride continues as an aphrodisiac to sin.
- Esau was eager for the easy, yet it cost him his life’s blessing. To release blessing, to flee pain - only increases lifelong burdens as Esau learned.
- The purpose of pain is to cast one upon their knees, it drives the humbled and the wise straight into the Lord’s arms and/or upon His lap. Thus, a dependent humility upon Jesus is gained. Do not lament the presence of pain, but rather lament its absence. Hurting is humbling, but the Lord will not snuff out a smoldering wick.
Never forget the good Lord's actions for you. this will keep you from returning to your old and destructive ways.
God will never leave pride unattended - He removes pride from the person or the person from Him.
Pride - leave earth without it!
