Prayer casts cares.

Soul Snack 7/10 ...The Pavement Prayer

The silhouette of a slight yet statuesque figure fell silently across the pavement. The downcast expression and the hanging eyes screamed a thousand words. The shoulder droop was simply an exclamation mark to their sentences.

The bright street lights ensured that all would see her; there was no escaping these lights.

Yet in her heart it was escape she sought. Clothed in the uncomfortable, she ambled aimlessly between the street lamps. Her body was on earth but her head and heart were in heaven.

As usual the wander of torment would bring no satisfying release. However she always fleetingly enjoyed the impermanent panacea it delivered.

She knew she always had a place to go. Her feet had the pavement and her feelings had prayer.

In prayer she had cast her cares.

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." (Mt 11:28-30)
