Discovering Paradise
Paradoxically, it is upon the knees where it is best to get lost...
I come to you Lord to fetch strength. I find me in you Lord - my breath, my identity, my purpose and all my plans. I do not want my old ways. Without seeing and knowing you I can only carve a hollow image of what your intentions are for me - sure there is long term breath, but there is no long term life if I don't have you Lord.
Please don't listen to my resistings of you Lord and fail to see my sin, until there is nought I desire but you, until the world fades in me past the inviting shadows and the only light in my heart is your burning lamp.
Lord may the lights of this world darken and You snuff out its candles still alight in my soul, for of what benefit am I to you when I am lured by the world? This I seek, this I would have, and there is nothing else I want.
Please equip me to be one who speaks right and anoint me with your Holy Spirit each day to do Your holy work.
I seek to be a flagstaff for You. Save me Lord from vainglory and man's acclaim, secret me in Your closet, hide me in Your closed palm until we meet. Let no man know my heart that they may only see Your heart in me.
Trouble my soul, make me as restless as a snake upon glowing coals until this soul completely is lost in you alone. AMEN #
Whom have I in heaven but You? And earth has nothing I desire besides You. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. (Psalm 73:25-26)
Lost on the Lord is paradise found.
