God does not take counsel from your tormentors

He guides me in paths of righteousness for His names sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for You are with me, Your rod and Your staff they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. (Psalm 23:3b-5a)

Can you imagine cheating death? You have, can and you will!

Our paths of righteousness He guides us on are for His honor. There is a twofold bounty in aiming for this. If Christians do not walk His paths they will be injured (not safe paths) and God does gain a polluted name.

The Lord walks with those righteous ... for You are with me. Fear flees, protection appears. There is an affront to death, even victory over it. Death's shadow falls across the righteous but they dine untouched in its presence. Thus, tormenting your tormentors.

The fruit of righteousness will be peace, whereas the bounty of unrighteousness is judgement.

The effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever.

God's own will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest. (See Isaiah 32:17-18)

The Last Word:

Look around that table, God does not take counsel from your tormentors. Stay focused. ~ Aaron Wright
