Mounting A Life Comeback
God's invitation to the thirsty, the weak and the wounded:
hear Me that your soul may live. (Isaiah 55:3a)
The soul is the focus of God's input, because it is eternal. The body will return to the dust, the spirit of man is withdrawn at death, but the soul continues into eternity.
To hear God, to listen to Him, to receive from Him is enlivening and enriching for the soul.
His words are neither shallow or hollow, and are not easily snatched away.
They are the place of refuge, the springs to drink deeply from, the elixir of well-being and the bearer of light.
Life eternal is predicated upon hearing the God of the Cross; being an empty vessel that is eager to be filled.
Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.” (John 6:68-69)
God's eternal goodness is received through His eternally true Word.
Dear Jesus,
I believe that You hold the only words to eternal life. I desire to hear Your good words this day and every day. I humble myself before You that I may hear from You alone, and the clamor of this world will compete with You no more. Amen
