Losing the grip of sorrow
Soul Snack 177/10 ... Divine Release
Surely he took up our infirmities
and carried our sorrows,
yet we considered him stricken by God,
smitten by him, and afflicted. Is 53:4
Appearances can so easily deceive. It looked like God was striking at Jesus, but in reality Jesus strikes to our hearts by grasping our sorrows and carrying all that is unwell in us.
It is in the grip of your sorrow that the Man of Sorrows becomes as real to you as the sorrow itself.
It is the Man of Sorrows who offers repair where there is despair.
It is the Man of Sorrows who takes a seemingly infinite pain and makes it finite.
It is the Man of Sorrows who charges our impotence with the electrifying release of His love.
The Man of Sorrows did not take your burdens simply as a divine act of nobility, He took them so you don't have to keep them.
