Jesus' Never Went To A Gym!
Hollow men make hollow judgements upon others. They only measure exteriors. Such men can do nought else.
Jesus was reckoned in this way, even by His kinsmen.
Israel longed for a messiah entering Jerusalem on golden chariot, not a madman riding on a dusty ass.
There was no physical attribute that would commend Him to men. Hence countless men have got Jesus wrong.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to Him, nothing in His appearance that we should desire Him. (Isaiah 53:2b)
He wore no mask, and no doubt cosmetics were never considered.
Jesus 'worked out' on mountain tops. His human spirit was as you or I, tempted in every way.
Before the Cross His body was bashed, torn and whipped beyond recognition.
Like one from whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we esteemed Him not. (Isaiah 53:3b)
Yet, the will of God still prospered at His hand. (See Isaiah 53:10)
His outside, always seen, never mattered. His inside, rarely seen, always mattered.
Look through kinder eyes to the vagrant, the desert dweller, or the child! Surely, these may also just be the chosen ones whose hands shall prosper the will of God?
