Life as a Certifiable Nut
Kindly many have advised me that I may well be a certifiable nut. Should they be correct, who am I to disagree?
A dedicated and certifiable motorcycle loving nut (such as I am) never gives up on their hobby, even if the garage is as bare of bikes as their wallet is empty of cash. I may have sold my only bike, but it is not my last. My 'mad' heart knows this truth:
for I am ever only living in-between bikes when the garage is empty. No bike is not a permanent state.
Surely my garage's contents are only a poor metaphor for the certifiably dedicated Christ-loving nut? They know a far greater resolve. They live between:
- the Cross and the Throne
- the now and not yet
- Babylon and Jerusalem
- pain and paradise &
- seeing and faith.
Jesus knew no where to lay His head. The Christian becomes lost when they believe earth is their place of rest.
If earth makes you uncomfortable GOOD, because Christians do not belong here - never have, never will! We belong with Another.
So we make it our goal to please Him... (2 Corinthians 5:9a)
The Christ-follower is merely a traveller trekking their way to heaven. They become accustomed to the idea that the earth is no more a home than the moon rules the day. They adjust their days accordingly.
Teach me O Lord to number my days aright that I may gain a heart of wisdom. (Psalm 90:12)
O Lord, please show me how You would have me adjust my days for You? For, I still get too consumed in planning they are just for me. AMEN
