The Ache of Sin.
Soul Snack 74/12 ... The Ache of Sin
An aching soul was evidenced by clenched eyes, a bent back and furrowed face. Conviction soaked this weary spirit and tears stained her cheeks; the inner pain so outwardly evident. Any chance observer would surely have rushed to hold her and speak tenderly.
She was prayerfully purging from the seductive deceit - your sin is still o.k with God 'cos His love and grace will always tolerate it.
Yet a soul that tolerates sin mistakes The Cross that can't. It denies the Heaven that helped, and ignores that purity is the call for all who are the namesake of The Christ.
The temptation to sustain sin is as benign as it is deadly. If the sinner saw this life-claiming yeast and understood its glaring offence, sin would always lose.
What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? (Roms 6:1-2)
The healthy soul will ache from sin but should never ache for sin.
