The Shadow of Sinai - B
Soul Snack 106/12 ... The Shadow of Sinai - B
Moses escaped Egypt and dwelt for four decades in the desert before returning to Egypt. Egypt is the place that God rescues His own from.
Egypt is the place of childhood, growing up and education. It is the place of honor, comfort, slavery and also sin.
Egypt is the point of entry to the wilderness (the desert) and the wilderness is the place of escape from Egypt . The wilderness is where Sinai is found and Sinai is the place where God is met.
Prior to leaving Egypt God had ensured that Moses was equipped well by Egypt for his future tasks.
Moses was educated in all the wisdom of the Egyptians and was powerful in speech and action. (Acts 7:22)
Everybody has their Egypt, many have their wilderness but all need their Sinai.
It is in the wilderness that Sinai is climbed and on Sinai God calls you to use the education of Egypt, elevates and returns you to Egypt BUT Egypt can never remain your land for it is where you rescue others from.
Egypt is not your home or your destination but your purpose and mission.
