Spilling The Bible
Soul Snack 62/12 ...Spilling The Bible
Cluttering minds and littering learning are countless opinions about The Bible - what's yours?
In a twenty-five words or less competition to describe The Bible what would your entry say? Take a moment please and write down your thoughts on The Bible in just one sentence.
Many see the 1611 King James Version as a high point of English literature.
Many mine The Bible simply as a text-book or a theological treatise.
Surely at least The Bible is a record of salvation history?
But is The Bible simply a mine, a history text or a giant of literature? All these thoughts (and so many more) can up-end The Bible and spill out its real value, emptying it of the Divine intentions just for you.
The Bible is God's love letter to you and any who would sit with it open upon their laps and gaze deep into its affirming truths.
Succour The Bible unto your soul for it was written just for you. Expect God each day to speak to you personally through it - it is His letter from heaven direct to you.
When you read a letter from a loved one you know they are writing just for you - God has written just for you as well. Ask Him and expect Him to speak to you each time you open it; after all what healthy father doesn't want to speak with their child?
Now would you change anything in those twenty-five words or less you wrote?
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, (2 Tim 3:16)
