Kissing Jesus' feet
Soul Snack 155/11 ... Kissing Jesus' feet
A lack-lustre lady arrived at a luminaries abode while the Lord was eating with him.
When a woman who had lived a sinful life in that town learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, she brought an alabaster jar of perfume, (Lk 7:37)
This lady had sins piled high to heaven that were apparently known and observed by those far more righteous.
In a rare and devoted humility she blessed Jesus with perfume and bathed His feet in her tears. Her humility was only multiplied by the constant kissing of Jesus' feet. As if all this devotion was still insufficient she then towel dried His feet with her hair.
This poor woman was rejected by the Pharisee as a sinner yet Jesus quickly defended her with a poignant parable of forgiveness.
Jesus remains an advocate of those sinners who dampen His feet in tears and yield their heart to His grace.
To kiss the feet of Jesus is to open the heart of Heaven.
whoever comes to me I will never drive away (Jn 6:36c)
