Soul Snack 218/11 ... The word on The Word - B
It is easier to debate God's word than obey God's word. - Anon
If you don't believe "In the beginning God ..." you will have trouble with the rest of scripture. ~ Ernie Freer
Why is the church; Christ's body racked with immorality, torn in dissension and seeking man's approval?
Why does the Christian church listen to the world, adopt its ways and lament their empty pews?
Why does Christ's body fail to act decisively and react distinctively to the sin in His church - WHY?
It has lost sight of the power of God's word; it is has stymied the Holy Scriptures with paralysis by analysis and it even claims that theology is the arbiter of truth when theology can't even be the guarantor of truth.
The church has explained God's words away or locked them in an ancient culture.
No longer is homosexuality wrong because psycoholgy says it is ok.
His body seeks its own preservation ahead of the King's promotion and His righteousness.
Church Committees cry for democracy while Jesus pleads for devotion. God's rule is never democratic because truth does not reside in popular opinion.
Truth resides in the person of Jesus and in His Spirit of Truth - without God's word how can any-one ever know this?
In ignoring God's word there is only peril.
In rejecting God's word there is only perishing - hence the reason for so many empty churches.
But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Tim 3:14-17)
