Locking out the Thief
Soul Snack 161/11 ... Locking out the Thief
Is the loudest voice and the mightiest flaw to those abandoned the indelible belief that they are unworthy of another's love?
Does the soul of the unloved float upon a mire of convinced dark feelings, supported daily by their now unconscious scan for the evidence?
The mind of the rejected searches and seeks out the actions of others that then scaffold their saddened spirit. Their flesh of fear scours for the places of safety while ignoring the risky places of release. Withdrawal becomes the deliberate refuge and solitude becomes safety.
When the abandoned, the unloved and the rejected can see their souls in the bright lights of the loving Divine instead of the daunting darkness of self-protective withdrawal they can only conclude they have been robbed.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (Jn 10:10)
When the abandoned, the unloved and the rejected are able to correctly audit their lives in the beams of Heaven's love they have bolted the door to their thief -- they have changed the locks to their heart.
Today's Soul Snippet:
It is through earthly affliction that I learn heavenly affection.
