Jesus does not withhold Himself
Soul Snack 142/10 ... From the Man of Sorrows
The Jesus of the Cross explains His heart to all who would take the time to listen:
The depth of my love for you pierced my heart,
The value of your being raised me from the dead,
I have withheld nothing of myself from you, nor will I ever consider it.
In tears I ached with you,
In shame I shared your sadness,
I have withheld nothing of myself from you, nor will I ever consider it.
In travail of body I carried your troubles,
In humiliation I have seen your wounds,
I have withheld nothing of myself from you nor will I ever consider it.
I know your shattered spirit,
I see your shaken soul,
I have withheld nothing of myself from you, nor will I ever consider it.
I have clothed you in my mantle of grace,
I have enfolded my wings around you,
I have withheld nothing of myself from you, nor will I ever consider it.
I have not stopped being at your side,
Nor have I ceased to count your tears,
I have withheld nothing of myself from you, nor will I ever consider it.
I have never withheld myself, I am not withholding myself now and I will never withhold myself -
I love you too much.
Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. (Jn 15:13)
