Imprinting Joy

Soul Snack 9/100 ... Looking for Sunshine - A

The doomsayers and the fearful would be correct, if the sun were destroyed so too would life. (Hmmm - Jesus seems to address this to ... Mt 24:29)

Sunshine is life!

People can be sunshine. They bring light with their presence. They beam light into my darkness.

Their light is their righteosuness.

We all know people like that. God places them in our lives for our well being. They may not even know they shine for you.

It is in another's goodness that I can see my sin. The light of their righteousness reaches into the recesses of my darkness, revealing it to me. I reflect - "I am not like them." This is the first blessing in witnessing another's goodness. (Tomorrow is the second one)

As a moth is drawn to a bulb, their unwitting light draws me to a fresh repentance. They now invite a new imprint of joy across my very mortal existence.

They are His sunshine for me, His beam of grace and His fatherly smile from heaven.

Who is your sunshine today? Who is bearing fruit for you?

The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green .. Ps 92:12-14
