Pride's Folly
Let another praise, and not your own mouth; someone else and not your own lips. (Proverbs 27:2)
Desire, seek and then live in humility, for it seeds your future very well.
Aim at the menial, work out-of-sight and God who sees in secret will reward you accordingly.
Better to be unseen and blessed by lightening the load of another, than to fall by pride.
Pride is the root of all sin, humility the glue to all relationships.
A man can't accept another while consumed in building himself up in his own eyes.
Pride is a wickedly seductive invitation to loneliness.
Pride is both an aphrodisiac and an emasculator. It enhances behavior and performance, a motivator to keep pushing when others tire. However, it shrinks spiritual growth and hinders self-understanding.
Pride comes before a fall. Humility is becoming what you had despised and realizing that you were wrong.
- A man's pride brings him low, but a man of lowly spirit gains honor. (Proverbs 29:23)
- Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. (Proverbs 16:18)
- He who trusts in himself is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom is kept safe. (Proverbs 28:26)
