He knows how weak we are!#

Hospital beds worry me.

Reflections from hospital beds are seeded in stillness, the time is forcefully available to marinate the thoughts.

For He knows how weak we are; He remembers we are only dust. Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die. (Psalm 103:4-5)

Psalms reminds the reader that God sees us as weak and dependent, whether in or out of a hospital ward.

Our illusions about ourselves being masters of our universe are just that: illusions.

I wonder when God gazes upon us, does He see us as rows of hospital beds?

Not one is immune from illness, over and over we all will just need care, tender care.

In the Psalmist’s words, we are dust. We bloom, but we too die. This doesn’t mean we don’t matter. “Dust” is not an insulting, or denigrating term. It simply means we are created and transitory beings completely dependent on our good Creator's fabric of love.

The wise and the humble will recognize we are far more like fleeting hospital patients than permanent masters of our universe.
