God's Flagstaff
Whilever I seek my glory I foolishly condemn myself to failure. This is the crafting of me as a direct competitor to God.
We are always exalting ourselves. The result is that God is always given second place. ~ A.W.Tozer
Flags are for the exaltation of those represented by it. They wave high beckoning much attention.
I cannot be pure in the seeking and care of God's interest's alone when my flags float the largest ripples in the air, as they flap across my soul.
Surely the chastened and humbled heart will turn to pray:
May I become a flagstaff for you Father - not for me anymore? No-one ever looks at the white pole holding the flag high, instead they gaze to what it honors; the brightly blowing ensign that does not point to the pole but away from it. AMEN
‘Stand up and praise the Lord your God, who is from everlasting to everlasting.’ ‘Blessed be your glorious name, and may it be exalted above all blessing and praise.' (Nehemiah 9:5)
We will never find peace or victory until God is given the place in our hearts that He has in the universe. ~ A.W.Tozer
