God will bring down their pride

There is a greater power with us than the Paris Olympics and its opening.

If there ever has been an affront to God it wafted across the airwaves unhindered two days ago. So, He 'hosed' it down in rain..

A 'travesty' of an opening ceremony is a kind adjective. Where was their dignity, or the Olympics 'innocence' of only being a dedicated sporting avenue?

How will this Olympics be recorded in history? It will be remembered for its 'stuff-ups'.

The Olympic flag was raised upside down, Celine Dion was four hours late and the content was a monumental blunder.

Surely the Olympic flag flying upside down was a metaphor at least?

Paris 2024 will be entered in the history books for the abhorrence of its opening. And, it was the first opening ceremony held outside the Olympic stadium, so more could be witnessed by children and adult alike.

Horror at its boldness, shame in their ignorance, sin in their assertions/behaviors and devoid of righteousness the Olympic organisers have struck lower than a graveyard in its spiritual blindness.

Israel Folau describes Paris 2024 Olympics opening ceremony as “openly mocking Jesus shows you the power that’s in His name”.

France has betrayed its predominantly Catholic nation. Western culture is doomed, having lost its foundation and its moral compass.

Tesla billionaire Elon Musk, the owner of social media site X, saying the performance was “extremely disrespectful to Christians”.

Pagan and Christian alike are shocked and offended.

SoulSupply reflects:

  • God will bring down their pride ~ Isaiah 25:11c
  • In a little while the wicked will be no more ~ Psalm 37:9a
  • the Lord laughs at the wicked, for He knows their day is coming. ~ Psalm 37:13

No man, no sport, no human authority can shake their fist at God in impunity.

The Last Word:

When sin reaches its full measure God acts. It just got a lot closer. (See Genesis 15:16)

PS ~ Dear brother and sister do not be discouraged or afraid ... there is a greater power with us ... theirs are only arms of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God to help us fight our battles. (Paraphrase 2 Chronicles 32:7 & 8)
