A Cure for the Common Life#

Do not despise small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin. (Zechariah 4:10 NLT)

Against a towering giant, a brook's pebble would seem futile. But, God used it to topple Goliath. Compared to the tithes of the wealthy, a widow's pennies seem puny. Note - Jesus used them to inspire us.

Moses had a staff.

Samson had a jawbone.

David had a sling.

Rahab had a string.

Mary had some ointment.

Peter had a fishing line.

Dorcas had a needle.

All were used by God. What do you have?

God inhabits the tiny seed, empowers the tiny deed. Don''t dismiss or discount the smallness of your deeds.

Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or think, according to the power at work within us (Ephesians 3:20)
