The NEW Christian TRUTH
On April 3rd 2017 "Time" magazine devoted its red and black full cover page to merely three words, and no images:
Is Truth Dead?
Mankind is a nomad upon earth in the seeking of truth. He visits remote places, studies in many libraries and gazes high, yet finds no 'truth' to settle upon.
Doubt assails almost every part of his life. These opportunities and choices run roughshod across his paths, or play daily upon his soul. Vagaries, change, and growth all create and point to things different, and maybe even claim that they are 'the new truth'.
Countless tracks are sure paths to heaven/nirvana although their gods are capricious, not always available and can also change their minds.
The God of the Cross too has changed he is told. Sin is no longer sin, and truth is now metered by mankind's ever darkening understandings.
Daily Christianity is being deconstructed and the thought police of political correctness press down ever harder.
There are new truths aplenty, but by tomorrow they will have failed. They will be quickly replaced by more quicksand for foolish men to suffocate under.
The New Truth is simple. It belongs to a far-away yesterday. It continues shunned and denied to this day. This is sure to be tomorrow.
However there is a largely unseen stability to this world, because there is a consistent and a perfect Pilot. He who named the stars has not re-named them. This knowledge might bring good comfort to those who fear their future, or even hate their days. God does not change.
The righteous God of yesterday, the righteous God of Golgotha and the righteous God of Eden has not changed. He speaks only truth and thus too truth cannot change. Doubt this? Let's look at the Scriptures:
- I, the Lord do not change... (Malachi 3:6)
- God remains the same and His days never end (Psalm 102:27)
- God is not a man ... that He should His mind (Numbers 23:19)
- Every good and perfect gift is from above ... from the Father ... who does not change (James 1:17)
The NEW TRUTH is the oldest one history, it's the first truth - He does not change. Truth is not dead.
He can still raise the dead, heal the sick and cast demons out. He still forgives sin and saves men from hell. AND, there is no other name under heaven that can save men than 'Jesus'. Any thoughts otherwise are deceit.
Be very careful about what you find on-line, what you read and those who teach you. Remember what informs you, forms you and then transforms you. The Bible will never leave you in error or fail you. God's word does not change anymore than God Himself.
Christians can happily rest, trusting on God's alive and unchanging truths. It is He alone who guides listening men into all truth.
Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers. (1 Timothy 4:16)
