Flattened on a mill's floor?
'Grist' literally means grain to be ground.
'Grace builders' are those unpleasant, persistent times and people that grind 'the living daylights out of you'.
All the world still awaits those who can persevere with 'the grace builders'.
Such seasons and people are as a grain of sand in an oyster shell. They are the irritant that produces a most valuable and pleasing product.
The greater the irritation, the more beautiful the result.
Irritations shape the Christian's heart and soul, thus the man of God is equipped for a work he may not yet know. Now he carries a beautiful faith and character he may not see.
Do not judge or condemn the irritating times or people, these are a Divine planting into your heart for your good and His Kingdom's good. Do not flee such times or people, instead permit the good Lord to work His wisdom and order all your times.
These days and these people are God's seasons of grist-like grace to you.
It is through the eyes of faith a disciple recognises a skilled and divine honing upon their lives.
The good Lord advises:
it is in regular annoyance I refine you.
All is grist for the mill. Everyone who is willing can be fashioned beautifully, and for all to see.
Cannot the smallest irritant create the most valuable jewels?
Likewise cannot the smallest and steadiest annoyance create that beautiful disciple who can only shine?
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. (James 1:2-4)
All are grist who come to His mill.
