Familiar with Empty?
Crime-filled pain shreds Mary Magdalene's soul while she hunts for her Lord.
The dark and cold of the empty tomb echoes in her voice as she cries out to Peter:
"They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don't know where they have put him!" (John 20:2)
Still unraised in her thinking, only ignorance prevails. Yet Jesus stands close by, just behind her in fact.
...she turned round and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realise that it was Jesus. (John 20:14)
Is there anything worse than to seek the Savior, see Him but still not find Him?
Is there anything sadder than being blind to His risen presence?
Mary's personal state was as empty as Jesus' tomb that resurrection Sunday.
My ignorance, my feelings (or many other reasons) may cause me to get Jesus wrong, but He is alive to me, just behind me in fact - still doing everything right!
His tomb is empty so that now I don't have to be!
