Agents of Darkness
Soul Snack 70/13 ... Agents of Darkness
Recently my mowing was interrupted with heretical musings across an untidy front lawn.
A balmy afternoon passed via a long chat (instead of the mowing) with a Jehovah's Witness entourage; delightful in their disposition, cogent in their reasoning and incorrigible in their convictions (but then again so was I).
Around 1840 satan dripped a trio of hopeless delusions disguised again as light. The Jehovah's Witnesses, the Mormons (Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Days Saints) and the Seventh Day Adventists were birthed almost simultaneously; each with their own 'divine' (satanic) inspired version of truth. Three sects, three deceits but three apparent new revelations of light.
This triumvirate of fanciful falsehoods spread widely. They are even healthier today because their beginnings become faded in history and origins diluted by time. I sadly know Christians who now fail to discern the spirits and accept them as brothers.
We can bat theology and verses around (as I did) in a Wimbledon of Biblical tennis BUT the truth remains - that which is founded upon lies is still lies. That which contradicted God's Word almost two centuries ago still contradicts it this day.
The more history I have built with these sects, the more I am convinced that exchanging Scripture with them is casting pearls before swine. We should follow John's injunction to have nothing to do with such agents of darkness so that we do not participate in their evil.
Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them. Anyone who welcomes them shares in their wicked work. (2 John vs 9-11)
Lies do not morph into truth through the passage of time anymore than dark can change into light.
