Faith's path is narrow

Soul Snack 8/11 ... The Tightrope Walk

Suspended above the ravine, ginger footsteps took him forward. Clearly his feet's engagement with the narrow rope and his fine balance were now the conduit of his life.

The absence of breeze ensured a near perfect platform to cheat death yet again. Buoyed by previous success his confidence probably outweighed his fear.

Little passed through his mind, save the life-preserving concentration that had long held him in good stead. No dalliance with distraction would ever occur, his life depended on it. This feat of his feet was to be no different than his previous attempts, steeled skill would live on yet again.

However the path of life, the highway to heaven, the road of righteousness is rarely travelled with such diligence and care. The dalliance with sin, the eye catching offers and the unguarded heart conspire against those on the narrow path.

The walk of faith is the tightrope of life, it is narrow, requires massive concerted effort and few make it, but you can be one of the few.

Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. (Lk 13:24)

Where justice is absent so too is righteousness.
