Faithfulness carries its own rewards
Too little is taught of virtue, and faithfulness is not held in high regard.
Virtue is the foundation to the Throne of Grace. And, Jesus began His ministry in the same manner He would end it, bellowing for virtue.
A thousand years preceding Jesus King David wrote many Psalms, a decent portion were 'virtue' laden prayers or songs.
You are mighty O Lord, and Your faithfulness surrounds You. (Psalm 89:8b)
God abounds in faithfulness, and is surrounded by it. (Psalm 86:15c)
Prior to King David were unnumbered years separating him from Adam. Adam had to be the first to learn virtue.
...but you must not eat of the the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil... (Genesis 2:17)
A spineless Adam soon 'realised' the second tree named in Eden (at the center too) was placed there as the test for faithfulness.
Four benefits that Adam 'missed':
- Faithfulness is how we serve our Lord.
- Faithfulness invites reciprocity, and offers kindness. There is much protection under the canopy of faithfulness.
- It is in faithfulness that the Christian learns to subdue the flesh.
- Faithfulness and purity hold hands, holiness can only multiply.
The Last Word:
Faithfulness was always intended to be mankind's bond between God and each other.
