Examining life

Soul Snack 207/10 ... Applying to Heaven

The unexamined life is a life without a rudder.

Nobody meanders through the ravines, scales the mountains, nor wades through the torrents of life in a disconnected series of random events.

To perceive my life as a fleeting chance, its events the results of a cosmic lottery and its circumstances flung from a wheel of fortune, is to fail in grasping reality.

The sequences of life are no more irrational than any birth is accidental.

To reflect on life's course is to seek reason amidst chance. To consider life's events is to apply to heaven - why?

From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. (Acts 17:26-27)
