Desire, Seek, Live
Moses is a man to 'envy'. Not because he was raised as a prince, led animal sheep around a desert before trekking the same desert with human sheep, but because his Biblical headstone will always read:
Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth. (Numbers 12:3)
A man's future is seeded in health when he desires, seeks and so lives in humility.
It is better to be blessed by anonymity than to be burdened, hamstrung and finally broken by pride.
Pride is the root of all sin, humility the canopy to righteousness.
A man can't accept another while he is so busy building himself up in his own eyes.
Pride pens an enduring invitation to relational friction, and then to an unenviable loneliness.
No human escapes pride, nor can they escape the proud.
But, they can desire, seek and then enjoy the peace of an unseen and humble life.
Striving for self can then be replaced by sitting with the Lord.
Pride is the oldest and most common of sins. Humility is the rarest and most beautiful of graces. ~ J.C. Ryle
