There is no shelf located sample I can reach for, touch and ponder upon. K-Mart does not sell it, nor can I can order it on-line. Google can describe it, but it can't give it. Amazon may write about it, but they can't post it.
It is not until a shaken earth nails an unshakeable God that mercy is finally shelved and available.
Where was there mercy before Calvary?
When has a new or superior 'model' of mercy been added since?
From His grave to beyond my grave, this is Jesus' unalterable gift to me. It was perfect when it arrived, it is still perfect now.
At Calvary Jesus placed mercy on the shelf available for all to reach, to hold and to ponder.
The humble will look up to His tear stained eyes and receive most thankfully, while all others will not even see the shelf.
"But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved." (Eph2:4-5)
