Be Not Ashamed!#
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. (Romans 1:16)
We can be ashamed of the hypocrisy of the church.
We can be ashamed of our own sub-Christian behavior.
But, we have no need to shrink from the pure gospel message of repentance in the name of Jesus.
Are we convinced of its power in our own life?
Are we considering the legacies we shall pass on, sowing to an inter-generational righteousness?
Are we concerned about the everlasting destinies of others we meet?
It might be the lack of personal experience of God's grace, and the absence of love within (and thus for others) that means we keep our faith cocooned.
Christian faith can never just be privatized.
It is to overflow from our own experience of repentance, this can overcome any preoccupation with self, or any self-conscious timidity.
Do we really believe Jesus can transform present life and future destiny?
If so, then no reason exists to be ashamed of the gospel, and every reason exists to shine Jesus as the focus of our life.
